Power Plants Construction & Maintenance Engineer - Sofia

United Group Energy, part of United Group B.V., develops, builds and operates utility-size renewable power plants to supply United Group’s telecom and media operations with 100% green electricity. In Bulgaria, we have under operation and development projects with more than 120MW total installed capacity.   For our team, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join as Power Plants Construction & Maintenance Engineer.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in the supervision over the construction/installation activities of UG RES power plants. Coordination of external supervisory organizations.
  • Organization of the operations in line with applicable legislation of the operational UG RES Power Plants with external service providers or by own personnel (depending on selected strategy for each power plant)
  • Organizing the necessary operational personnel and procedures in accordance with local legislation and regulations and good industry practices.
  • Active participation in the tendering and contracting process for equipment delivery and construction/installation works for UG RES Power Plants.
  • Preparation of technical requirements for external suppliers, incl. for tender procedures.
  • Active management and supervision of external suppliers of technical services; coordination of the activities of external suppliers.
  • Creating of detailed power plants construction and acceptance schedules. Progress monitoring and regular reporting.
  • Active participation in the preparatory stages for putting into operation of UG RES Power Plants. Supporting the obtaining of all regulatory and other operational permits.
  • Organization of the preventive maintenance and repair activities UG RES Power Plants. Introduction of technical and operational KPIs assets maximum production availability in line with their technical specifications. Regular internal reporting on all adopted KPIs.
  • Adopting of detailed annual maintenance and repairs programs in coordination with the daily power generation schedules and annual production plans. Optimization of the planned outages depending on the renewable resource seasonality and power market trends.
  • Optimization of spare parts management and warehousing in line with assets production availability targets and equipment vendor specifications.
  • Coordination with the RES power generation equipment providers for the realization of warranty and planned maintenance works. Coordination regarding power plant availability warranties and other specific commercial and technical activities related to the power plants’ performance as contracted with the relevant vendors.
  • Аctive management and supervision of external suppliers of technical services. coordination of the activities of external suppliers.
  • Organizing appropriate security measures for all UG RES Power Plants in collaboration with UG Security Division.
  • Participating in RES energy investment project evaluation and acquisition initiatives.
  • Participation in the roll-out of self-generation, storage (BESS) and other power projects at UG group companies.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Degree: Electrical Engineering or a similar degree applicable to electrical power plants construction and operation.
  • Experience: Experience in electrical power plants construction, operation or similar activities in the energy sector.
  • Languages: English language working level
  • Driving license: Category B, and ability to travel regularly to the RES power plants’ sites.
  • Certificates/ Additional trainings (OPTIONAL):
    • Project Management
    • MS Project (or similar PM SW tools)
    • Management / Business Administration
    • SCADA and/or other Energy Management Systems
